Wedding Wise Wednesday – September 30th
Posted: September 30, 2009
Every Wednesday I post the Best Wedding Deals and Stories That I find in Los Angeles and around the web. And we call it Wedding Wise Wednesday. Welcome!
Another full week at Silver Charm Events, as CJ used to say on West Wing Wing. Finalizing Photography Contracts for Ellen and Patrick, Venue contracts and catering menus for Nina and Rob, and many, many little details for Cheryl and Paul, who are getting married next week.
The New Big Idea:
Every bride needs a little bit of help, and now I can give you a little bit of help, weekly. Welcome to Charmed Circle Wedding Coaching, which will provide one on one and group coaching via conference calls three times a month. I’ll answer all your questions and point you in the right direction as you’re planning the big day. The first informational session is Wednesday, October 7th an it’s free, so go to the new shop page on my website (newly re-designed for your pleasure) to register.
Squee of the Week – Mmm, Doughnuts..
I have often extolled the virtues of wedding cake alternatives. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some wedding cake (my husband insists that I bring a slice home for him from every wedding), but I love it when brides decide to go with pie, instead, or a candy buffet, or cupcakes, or, or DOUGHNUTS.Green Wedding Shoes posted pictures of this gorgeous wedding in Marin, complete with yummy organic doughnuts by Dee’s Mini Doughnuts:
Thanks to Divine Order Photography for the pics. Down here in L.A., Fritelli’s in Beverly Hills also offers organic doughnuts, and, upping the eco-friendly ante, they power the entire bakery with wind energy. Hard core, right?
Broke Ass Bride Wedding in a Week Contest:
Dana at BAB has gotten together with the most awesome wedding vendors to offer the most awesome wedding items for one or more lucky brides – custom couture dresses, photography, both bridal and boudoir, unique bridal bouquets (felt!), unique favors (mini-gumball machines!),and the week’s not even over, yet. Friday is the last day for you to enter for any or all of the prizes, so hop on over to The Broke-Ass Bride and check it out.
When the World Gives You Lemons…Make Wedding Centerpieces out of them
The ultimate in organic, eco-friendly weddings – Stacie over at Blogger Brides talks about using fruit in your centerpieces and decorations. I also thank her for the opportunity to use that joke.
New Favor Idea Alert – Recyclable Canvas Tote Bags
Or you can use for out-of-town guest gift bags, plain, or spice them up with a pretty stamp on front. And Cheap Totes has them for 99 cents each, can’t beat that. Thanks for the head’s up, Wedding Bee!
