7/1 -Wedding Wise Tip #182 – Some rental companies charge a deposit to cover any loss or damages.
7/2 – Wedding Wise Tip #183 – #lossanddamages One glass can be rented dozens of times a year. If it gets lost or damaged, you might have to pay to replace it. Ask.
7/3 – Wedding Wise Tip #184 – Make a list of what balances are going to be due AFTER your wedding. Final catering bill? Photography? Staffing?
7/4 — Wedding Wise Tip #185 – Holiday weekend wedding? Add extra time buffers into your day to account for traffic and guest delays.
7/5 – Wedding Wise Tip #186 – No, you don’t have to have favors at all. They will not be missed.
7/6 – Wedding Wise Tip #187 – Calculate your budget per person, be realistic about what that can cover. Start by being realistic about what that could cover for dinner.
7/7 – Wedding Wise Tip #188 – If you know you’re going to want more pictures than are on the list you gave your photographer, give them a head’s up ASAP.
7/8 – Wedding Wise Tip #189 – 30 mins pre- your photographer’s end time, check and see if there are any more pics you need/want.
7/9 – Wedding Wise Tip #190 – If your photographer has an assistant, you need to feed them, too.
7/10 – Wedding Wise Tip #191 – Give yourself or your photographer time/a day to scout out pre and post wedding picture locations.
7/11 – Wedding Wise Tip #192 – Having a wedding website is never a bad idea. And put your email and phone number on there. If people have questions, you definitely want to answer them!
7/12/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #193 – If you fire your bridesmaid or groomsman, that will damage your relationship. That stuff stays personal, and you have been warned.
7/13/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #194 – If you’re bringing in tables and chairs, count and name them (check-in, coffee, bar, etc.) a week before your rental order deadline, and then again the day before. Counts change, needs to change.
7/14/18- Wedding Wise Tip #195 – If you don’t pay for a copy of your marriage certificate when you get your license, you can order copies when you send your license back. That form will be in your license packet.
7/15/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #196 – If you don’t order certificate copies when you get your license or when you send the signed license back, you can go pick up a copy once it’s ready.
7/16/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #197 – Keep the copy of your marriage license that your officiant gave you, so you can track your certificate down if you haven’t received in 6-8 weeks.
7/17/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #198 – Rentals are definitely going to cost more than you think they will.
7/18/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #199 – Unpopular opinion: Price out paying for it before you DIY it. I keep going back to this for a reason!
7/19/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #200 – Even if you really like their work, make sure you like the vendor, too.
7/20/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #201 – Ovens, lighting, musical equipment – weddings take a lot of electrical power. Ask your venue if that’s ever a challenge.
7/21/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #202 – Do any of your vendors need extension cords? Are they bringing them, or are you providing them?
7/22/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #203 – The presence of fear is an indication that you are relying on your own strength (#ACIM). If you’re feeling overwhelmed, ask for help from whoever you would normally ask for help from. Those people, and your vendors, too.
7/23/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #204 – Before you make your final florist order, make sure ALL the personal flowers are covered. Dads, moms, grandparents, flower girls?
7/24/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #205 – To be clear, the issue with friendors isn’t that they’re friends, it’s that they’re not professionals who does this on a regular, paid = pressure basis. Think college basketball vs. NBA.
7/25/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #206 – If your #friendor IS also a professional DJ/florist/caterer, etc., that’s great. If not, there are often gaps in their experience that’ll have be compensated for. This is one reason I have a job, lol!
7/26/18 – Wedding Wise Tip #207 – #thingsthatgetforgotten – Cocktail napkins for the bar, and for appetizers.
7/27 – Wedding Wise Tip #208 – multiple guest food restrictions and you’re serving family style? Brief your wait staff on the menu so they can guide guests on what they can eat.
7/28/18 – Wedding Wise Tip # 209 Family style vs. food restrictions #2 – I had a wedding this summer where 30 guests (out of 200) had five different food restrictions. Seriously, inform, don’t humor.
7/29/18 – Wedding Tip #210 Family style vs. Food restrictions #3 Printed menus help, too, but brief your servers, anyway.
7/30/18 – Wedding Tip #211 – #thingsthatgetforgotten stick lighters for candles. Bring two, at least.
