Backstage Bridal!

I love this time of year – more cool Bridal events than you can shake a stick at, or actually, reasonably attend. But I made Backstage Bridal on Sunday, and I’m so glad I did, because look:

Yes, ladies, that would be a wedding dress made out cashmere. CASHMERE! Designer Deborah Lindquist is known for her environmentally-conscious couture,and can she bring it or what? This was me stalking photographers Desi Bayton to get a pic, check out the Backstage Bridal Blog for more of their shots of the gowns at the show including gorgeousness from Amal of Beverly Hills and Marry Me Bridal. No formal fashion show, just models roaming the floor in their gowns, so everyone could look really closely and ask them questions. LOVE it.

Wedding planner Tami Brown put on a wonderful event, centered around individual Q&A sessions that she led with all the vendors. What do you need to ask potential wedding planners? What do people forget to ask about their flowers? How long does it take to order your wedding gown? Brides were able to find out the answers to these questions and more, plus Broke Ass Bride Dana LaRue was on hand to talk about eco-friendly and budget-friendly wedding planning. PLUS, we all got lunch, compliments of Contemporary Catering. I don’t mind telling you I had two servings of the salmon and potatoes. Yummy!

Events like this are great for me, too, because it gives me a great chance to actually talk to vendors, and I was able to find a couple that might really be able to work with some of my clients. Nothing wrong with adding to the roster or the bench, you know? Speaking of which, and speaking of the Broke Ass Bride, I’m going to her Kick-Ass Cake Bash tonight, the official launch of the Broke-Ass Cake Collection at Fantasy Frostings. Cake and cocktails, baby, cake and cocktails. Do I have an awesome job, or what? I’ll tell you all about it on the Wedding Wise Wednesday blog tomorrow, promise.
