My Wedding Weekend
Posted: December 6, 2010
Well, Friday just rocked. I did some scouting for JulCouple in Pasadena, looking for a park space for their wedding ceremony, and ran into prep for the UCLA/USC game at the Rose Bowl AND folks working on Rose Parade floats. Brookside Park might just work. But we’ll see what JulCouple think.
Friday night, Dana and Hunter hosted the first Broke Ass Bride holiday party, which involved team Gingerbread house making, honey wine and making our own mini-pizzas. Also something about manatees being mistaken for Mermaids, but I promised my mother that I’d keep this blog clean. Too.Much.Fun.
Saturday Morning, on an email tip, I headed over to Renee Strauss in Beverly Hills. They’re having a huge sample sale all month long – 3 dresses for $99. Tuesday – Saturday, 12-5pm. I was still looking for a dress to wear to the formal wedding I’m coordinating in January, and man, did I find it. Exactly what I was looking for. I also picked up this dress, here, and a devastating dark blue strapless ballgown train number that I had a VERY hard time taking off. Why? THREE DRESSES FOR NINETY-NINE DOLLARS. And I like having proof that the diet is working.
On Sunday, I meet with a bride that’s getting married in June at the Park Plaza. Beautiful space, and she’s having this great multi-cultural wedding with 200 or her nearest and dearest. She’s also thinking about having a receiving line after the ceremony, which I’m been thinking about ever since we talked about it. I haven’t seen one of those in a while, but it is actually a good idea if there are a lot of family on either side that you don’t know. In that case, having your parents there to introduce you works. More on that, later. What do you think?
See you at the end of the aisle,
