Wedding Wise Wednesday – July 29
Posted: July 29, 2009
Every Wednesday, I post the best wedding bargains, deals and stories I find all week, around Los Angeles and around the Web. And we call it Wedding Wise Wednesday.
First the Contest:
WC Photography is holding a Contest for not one but two couples, who are having, and I quote, “an out of this world wedding” that will separate it from all others. Edward and Nancy just need to know the reasons why. What do you win? A One Hour Engagement session, 6 Hours of shooting by 2 photographers, Professional Make-up for the bride, 50 5X5 Art prints, and 2 11X14 prints. Deadline is August 21st to enter, AND I’m going to throw in admission to the next Recession Bride’s Workshop on August 23rd for the winner, and a one-on-one wedding “tune-up” session, where we’ll sit down and you can ask me for all the advice and referrals you need, so start making a list now.
Now, the Deals:
YES! Finally! David’s Bridal. $99 wedding dress sale. Now until August 10. GO.
Lilli Bridal in Tarzana is having a sample sale, wedding dresses 30-75% off through this weekend. You know what I love about this? That wedding dress in the show Friends, that Monica wears while she’s cleaning the apartment? The episode I’m always talking about? Came from this store.
Custom wedding monogram for $5. Thanks to Help Me Pay for My Wedding for the find.
BargainsLA.com – Erica Koesler accessories outlet store. Jewelry and Accessories up to 75% off.
Get a free copy of the newest wedding magazine, Get Married. Get Married is also a morning show on Lifetime, which I’d never heard of, and you can download episodes on itunes. How many blog posts do you think I’ll get out of those? MANY.
Then the Tips:
One Wed – Wedding Truths. I agree with all of these, and will soon be adding a couple of my own. Like watching out for aisle runners. Stay tuned.
Eat your own escort cards! See, she put little name tags on green apples with her guests names and table numbers. Inexpensive, original,eco-friendly and edible. You really can’t ask for anything more.
We interrupt this post for something that made me go, hmmm…
Cotton Ball Bridal Bouquet. Real cotton balls, not the ones you buy at Target. Thanks to The Future Mrs. Darcy for this one.
We interrupt this post again for something that made me go SQUEE!
Felt and Button Bridal Bouquet. To the surprise of no one, she also has an Etsy store.
And again for something that made me wish I had a drive-through window on my house:
Drive Through Weddings
And, Finally, The Events:
The Bellisima Bride Bridal Show
Sunday, Aug 2, 2009 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The Hyatt Valencia
24500 Town Center Drive
Valencia CA 91355
Tickets are $8 or $4 if you pre-register on the website.
That’s it for this week, and I’ll see you at the end of the aisle,
Liz C.
