Wedding Wise Wednesday – September 16th
Posted: September 17, 2009
Running, running, running – I coordinated a wonderful wedding on Sunday. I love traditional Jewish ceremonies, with the ketubah signing and the chuppah ceremony (they made their vows under a chuppah made by her brother and one was surrounded by 25 of their closest friends and family), and the breaking of the glass, and 250 people getting their celebration on at the Castaway. So much fun! I’ll have a pic or two in a couple of days. This Saturday is Michelle and Joe’s full mass at the Los Angeles Cathedral, so I’m definitely going to be a little bit closer to God this month, you know?
Speaking of fun and heavenly guidance, if you schedule a free consultation with me in the next week to talk about your wedding you’ll get your choice of either a pocket-sized copy of “Weddings for Dummies” or a full-sized copy of “Worst Case Scenario Handbook: Weddings”. You have until this Sunday the 20th, to make an appointment, and the appointment has to be some time in the week. Go to this page for more details. See you soon!
Squee of the Week:
New wedding favor idea from the Wedding Workroom – lipstick and make-up for your chick guests, which, no, I never would have thought of –
But what would you give the guys? Hmm…
You know when you’re talking about a problem and the solution all of sudden appears right in front of you?
So, I was at the Wedding Salon on Monday with Anne, one of my brides, talking about what she still needs for her wedding, and she says, “I don’t know what I’m going to do about bridesmaid’s dresses – they’re all different sizes and shapes. And we looked up, and there was Ariane and her dress company Two Birds, which offers one beautiful bridesmaid dress, in any color you want, that can be wrapped 15 different ways, to accommodate everyone’s style and figure LOVE it when that happens! And thanks to Feel Good Style for the picture.
The Pros and Cons of a Morning Wedding
No, you won’t save money on vendors, yes you do have to get up early, but hey, the rest of the day? All yours, to do anything and everything that you want. Not a bad trade-off. Find out more at A Practical Wedding.
And yes, that is an ad for the Recession Bride’s workshop down on the left. Thanks for noticing! It’s next Sunday the 27th (you can even schedule your appointment and pick up your book then so don’t forget to sign up. There’s cake and you’ll find out how to save money and still have the wedding of your dreams. It’s a no-brainer, really.
When Your Eyes Are Bigger Than Your Guest List
Weddings generate a lot of food, and a lot more leftover food than you’ll expect. What should you do with it? Saturday’s couple boxed it up and dropped it off for a shelter, but there are other ideas in that vein as well. Slashfood tells you all about it.
What a week, what a week – but I got my track shoes on so I should be fine. How are you guys doing?
See you at the end of the aisle,
Liz C.
